ALI IHSAN and SELALE

         ALİ İHSAN and ŞELALE
Education has a crucial place in our world. It starts from the birth and continues until the last breath. Thus, to be a good person, every single child should be sent to school when s/he is mature enough. There are several teachers to teach something for students. Those teachers are from different departments. One of the departments is foreign language. English is part of foreign language. To be teacher is really important. There are several teachers for English. There are two teachers whose names are Ali İhsan and Şelale. They are my English teachers from high school. Although they share same similarities, they have some differences, too.
Ali Ihsan is similar to Şelale. First of all, both of teach grammar. For example, they teach how to use grammar. So, I can use grammar easily thanks to them. Secondly, both of them teach speaking. They also give some clues about pronunciation. They say how we pronounce the English words.
Despite these similarities, Ali İhsan differs from Şelale. To begin with, their teaching methods are different from each other. Ali İhsan uses some methods like making groups which create ambiance to study as stated by Brosh (1996). However, Şelale reads only the current subject from the course book. As a consequence, this is not beneficial to students and no one learns anything. Moreover, the materials they use are not the same. Ali İhsan distributes handouts about what he is going to mention in that lesson, gives worksheets and uses projector to make the lesson more effective. So, his lessons are better than Şelale’s when we compare. On the other hand, Şelale never uses such materials except for the course book. Thus, in her lessons students are bored and they cannot benefit from the lessos.
To sum up, even though they have similarities such as grammar and speaking, lesson they also have differences in terms of teaching methods and the materials they use. A good teacher should understand the situation of her/his students and try to make the lesson enjoyable.

DECIDING WHAT TO DO AFTER GRADUATING

Deciding What to Do After Graduating
Education is important for everyone. Education begins in family then continues with schools such as kindergarten, primary school, high school and university. Universities are more important than the others because people decide which jobs they will choose. However, studying at universities is difficult. So, students should have break after they graduate from universities. Some important reasons why students should have break involve improvement of language, work&travel program and tiredness.
First of all, students improve their language because nowadays language is important. People should know two or three foreign languages because it can be helpful for their business lives. Learning a language can be enjoyable and they should choose which language they want. Knowing the language is important for business life because many bosses want employees to know different languages. If the employees know many languages, they can take the job easily.
Second is work&travel program. People should go abroad with work&travel program after graduating from universities because if they go with the program, their languages, and cultures can develop. If they go with the program, they can earn money and if they love where they go, they can live there. Besides, when they go with the program, they can see new countries, and cultures. They can meet new people and they can be friends.
Finally, after graduating from universities, they can be tired because they study a lot and they have lots of exams and homeworks when they are in universities.
There are many reasons why students should have break after graduate from universities. In my opinion, students should have break because the need to allocate time for them.

EUROPEAN UNION

European Union
There are lots of countries in the world. However, some countries do not get on well each other but there are some countries which get on well each other. These countries set up a group which called European Union. This group set up with Maastritcht Treaty in 1992. European Union has approximately a population of five hundred million. After the European Union sets up, there are several causes and effects of European Union.
First cause is economy. European Union’s members have common market and common currency such as Euro thanks to reason. There is a situation which people make circulation of people, goods, services and movement of capital in free way. Euro is the common currency. There are also twelve different currencies in European Union.
Second cause is justice, freedom and security. They do not distinguish between people in terms of religion, language, race, disability and gender, age. At the same time, even if people commit an offense, European Union abolished the death penalty. So human rights have emerged.
There are causes of European Union. However, although European Union has causes, it has possible effects on the participant countries.
First effect is population. In European Union, the total population of twenty-seven members has increased considerably compared to normal. Population is increasing day by day because of migration. Population includes languages which are spoken by people who live in there. I mean in European Union, there are twenty-three official languages among all the languages and dialects. These are Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Irish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovene, Spanish and Swedish. At the same time, there is Christianity in European Union. Christianity is the most common language in the European Union.
Second effect is culture and sport. This is the first thing that comes to mind about culture, these are Ancient Greek, Ancient Rome, Medieval Feudalism, Renaissance, and Age of Enlightenment in European Union. There are lots of international organizations about sport.  These are basketball, football, handball, ice hockey, rugby union, volleyball.
To sum up, these are causes and effects of European Union. In my opinion, everyone should know and learn about causes and effects of European Union.

SPEAKING ENGLISH

Speaking English
There is a very difficult subject for everyone. However, there is a only one subject for everyone and that is learning a foreign language because no one cannot speak a foreign language at the first because it is not native language for everyone. English is one of the foreign languages for everyone except English and American people. Grammar, writing , reading, listening, speaking seem easy but speaking is one of the most difficult thing between them. So, in order to teach this language to anyone there stages of improving everyone speaking in English.
In the first stage of improving everyone speaking in English, everyone should watch soap operas or films. Everyone can watch every kind of soap operas or films which include comedy, horror, and action. Everyone should find soap operas or films which are liked the most. So if everyone finds the most liked soap operas or films, everyone can watch them in an enjoyable way.
In the next stage, everyone should listen English songs very much. Music is quite wide to find whatever everyone wants. For example, even if everyone does not like the singer but everyone listens one or two of his/her songs. Everyone can put those songs in their MP3 players then they can listen in the bus , ship or their cars. So, wherever everyone go, they can listen from their MP3 players. Moreover, listening provides them to make the correct accent. How much everyone listens, their accent will be better.
Finally, in the last stage of improving everyone speaking in English, chatting is beneficial way to learn English. Everyone should find a foreign person who is English or American and start to talk his/her. Everyone can be forced at the beginning but later everyone will talk more and better.
In conclusion, these are the stages of improving everyone speaking in English. Everyone knows that improving speaking in English. However, if you obey these steps, everyone can improve speaking in English easily.

Peasant Dance
We are analyzing the oil painting which is called Peasant Dance. This painting was owned by painter called Piether Bruegel. We see people dancing, being full of life in the painting. A lot of people dancing, talking, resting and chatting at the same time, playing musical instruments spread all over the painting. Two couples are offering a very lively dance at the back. Besides a couple clasping at the front, figure of a pair kissing, figure of people discussing an issue at the table, figure of two children dancing are shown. We understand that the weather is not windy because of the trees being stagnant in the landscape at the back of the moving figures. Colors are used in pastel tones. Although the subject is whatever entertainment and dance, we cannot see happiness and joy in the figure of people’s faces. These clothes are owned by the peasants of that time. It is not a leisure-style for rich people. This is a barn dance. To sum up, instead of showing people are having fun, actually the painter wants to tell us confusion there and people in different moods.
